Ultrasound Treatments

Bring your skin into the light for a clear and radiant skin!

What is ultrasound/ultrasonic exfoliation?

Ultrasound technology is the mildest form of mechanical exfoliation. It is gentle, non-invasive, safe and suitable for all skin types. Ultrasound/ultrasonic works by sending waves through a flat metal peeling probe, creating ultrasonic vibrations that measure between 24,000 and 26,000 hertz. These rapid oscillations help to further loosen the dead skin and debris that is already in the process of naturally sloughing away. It is commonly used with an exfoliation gel or foaming cleanser, and is mild enough to be used two to three times per week. Our device combines microcurrent option which allows for thorough product penetration and hydration immediately after the freshly exfoliated skin is prepared. Corrective topicals are applied prior to ultrasound administration and essentially pushed into the skin. Superficial and blended chemical peels can be applied immediately following the ultrasound for safe, highly effective outcome.

What is difference between ultrasound/ultrasonic exfoliation and microdermabrasion?

Ultrasound can be used 2 to 3 times a week. Microdermabrasion can usually only be tolerated once every 14 to 21 days as it is a much more assertive peel. In addition, there are some skin types that remain a bit too sensitive for microdermabrasion, or are too sensitive to have other technology services performed immediately after microdermabrasion. Ultrasound is considered more of an “enhancement” of a basic facial where microdermabrasion is really the facial itself. Ultrasound exfoliates dead skin cells without the redness and irritation sometimes associated with microdermabrasion.

Benefits of ultrasound/ultrasonic exfoliation

  • First, it is used in the deep cleansing step of the facial to effectively remove the dirt and debris from the surface of the skin.
  • Later in the facial, it is used to enhance the penetration of treatment serums.
  • Skin will allow for optimal conductivity during microcurrent services.
  • Skin will accept maximum light energy when performing LED services.
  • Increased hydration.
  • Unclog congested pores which contribute to breakouts.
  • Ultrasound/ultrasonic treatment is great for somebody with thin and/or red skin.
